Of Thimbles and Fear
A thimble or a kiss-
Needles piercing thumbs
Hurt less
Than lips tied with string
Neverland’s rain
Weigh heavy on your locks-
You cry:
“What are you afraid of?”
Of turned backs
Of nine-to-five desk jobs
I am afraid
Of your smile
Whisper me a story
Kiss me only on the forehead
Tonight
I remain a boy
{We were told to write a poem from the perspective of a fairy tale character. This is what I came up with.}
